Job Description |
|
|
- Conceptualize, shoot, script and edit television news stories, video news releases and other video products for distribution to global broadcast media and for placement on the IFAD’s website and Internet channels.
- Ensure the implementation of broadcast communications campaigns, establishing supportive relationships with broadcasters, producers and television journalists.
- Seek out opportunities, develop storylines and pitch IFAD’s key spokespeople and video content as sources for emerging television news stories.
- Travel to IFAD-supported projects to gather footage, conduct interviews and capture stories, working independently to negotiate appropriate filming situations and taking responsibility for the accuracy and aesthetic quality of materials gathered.
- Direct and supervise video crews in a variety of locations and situations, taking responsibility for the footage produced.
- In some cases, take direct responsibility for shooting and edit video content in the field, making fast decisions about news worthiness, selecting appropriate images, writing background notes and uploading footage onto remote servers for immediate distribution to television media.
- Keep abreast of current practices, trends, approaches and latest technological developments in broadcast media and make recommendations.
- Participate in unit meetings and contribute to the development of strategies for increasing IFAD’s profile through video production and dissemination.
- Provide consultation services to IFAD staff, recommending appropriate video and audio materials and/or approaches to video production.
- Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications:
- University degree in film studies, journalism, communications or a related area with specific training in video and television production
- Minimum of five years of relevant experience in television news production and journalism.
- Knowledge or familiarity with the UN or its mission is an asset.
