 Job Description
 
  • Arrange storage and labelling of all items for ease of use, in collaboration with the Facilities Team
  • Advise the Facilities Team on appropriate storage options
  • Update policies and procedures to be compatible with standards
  • Consult with CAFOD staff, communicate the policies to them and encourage them to archive and retain historically significant documents
    Help staff to gather and organise material which should be archived
  • Research our archives to gather historically significant documents
  • Create a detailed life cycle of key decisions CAFOD has taken in its history and significant events which have influenced CAFOD’s way of working
  • Identify and capture key points upon which CAFOD can learn from past experiences
  • Examine the current materials held in the archive with a view to reducing the amount of data held.
 Candidate Profile
 

Qualifications:

  • Able to undertake research and logically present findings
  • Able to work on own initiative and within a team
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Catholic Church
  • Sympathy with CAFOD’s vision, mission and values

Desirable:

  • Qualified and/or experienced archivist
  • Knowledge and understanding of development issues
  • Comfortable with new technology.
