Job Description |
|
|
- To find creative and innovative ways to engage campaigners, through a range of media, including print, online and audio-visual.
- To project manage multi-component materials for a range of media, including coordinating creative teams and working creatively and collaboratively with the production coordinator, digital team, designers, picture desk and audio-visual staff.
- To ensure that all communication materials which the post holder is responsible for are produced on schedule, to brief and to budget, working within CAFOD’s brand, audience priorities and communications plans.
- To stay up to date with current best practice for on and offline campaign communications.
- To write to brief in a clear, concise and persuasive way for a range of audiences and media.
- To update relevant pages on the website on a regular basis, ensuring that the content is engaging, relevant and accurate
- To research human-interest stories and socio-economic issues, working closely with Policy Advisers and staff in the International Division and translating complex policy issues into clear, simple and effective copy.
- To plan and project manage news and image gathering of big campaign events and write news and blogs on developments in key campaigns and issues.

Qualifications:
- Experience of working as a writer or materials coordinator on a range of materials including on and offline.
- Proven ability to project manage the creative coordination and evaluation of a range of materials
- Keen interest in e-campaigning and willingness to develop skills in this area
- Experience in providing creative solutions to communication issues and problems
- Experience of working with and developing innovative communications strategies for a range of audiences
- Experience of sub-editing and proofreading
- Ability to work well in teams and with a wide range of individuals, communicating effectively and helping others to achieve their goals
- Demonstrable involvement or keen interest in campaigning
- Understanding of working with a faith community so as to be able to communicate effectively and appropriately with them
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
- Ability to work in stressful situations and demonstrate self-management of time, resources and emotions
