Job Description |
|
|
- Deliver and report on the strategy, operational, business and other plans within timeframe and budget.
- Directly manage the team of Directors and Corporate Services team and be aware of work undertaken at all levels within the Trust.
- Maintain a management overview and contribute to the development of existing and new projects across the organisation
- Inspire, encourage and where appropriate assist with the training and development of staff and volunteers.
- Recommend to the Board changes in staff structure and implement approved changes.
Foster a culture of good communications at all levels within the Trust.
- Within the Trusts strategic framework, investigate, facilitate and encourage the development of new projects.
- Support the Board in ensuring that the governance of the Trust as laid down is adhered to.
- Work closely with the Chairman to ensure that the Board are fully engaged in all aspects of governance.
- Recommend to the Board changes to Trust strategies and policies.
- Ensure that the Trust complies with all relevant statutory requirements.
- Ensure that the Trust’s Articles of Association, policies and procedures are adhered to.
- Ensure that risk management is regularly reviewed, and that the management of risk is seen as a key objective by all staff.
- Maintain and develop good relations with local, national and European politicians, statutory agencies, partner organisations and other relevant bodies.
- Promote the work of the Trust through contacts at as high a level as possible including the use of events, media and professional networks.
- Undergo training and appraisal as required and take responsibility for their own personal development.

Qualifications:
- Environmental issues, particularly as they relate to wildlife
- Understanding of relevant organisations and government process in Northern Ireland and ideally UK and Europe
- A third level qualification relevant to the work of the organisation and/or to the areas outlined in the job description and person specification.
- Management of high performing teams
- Business and finance acumen.
- Knowledge of effective internal and external communications techniques.Tactical awareness and credibility necessary to operate at a senior level
- Clear visionary thinking and strategic ability
- Excellent communication and influencing skills, confidence in working media channels and networking
- Ability to identify conflicting priorities and proactively manage risk for the benefit of the Trust.
- Proven success in relationship management and influence with external bodies and organisations
- Leadership of multi-functional teams
