Job Description |
|
|
- Build and supervise a team of staff in Kinshasa and approximately 6 other locations across the country.
- Ensure good coordination with other USAID projects and partners to capitalize on synergies and attain cost efficiencies.
- Oversee the implementation of the project and provide general program and technical direction.
- Ensure the completion and submission of all project deliverables.
- Address contract-related issues, including ensuring that PATH’s financial controls and systems comply with generally accepted accounting practices that meet USAID standards, and that all activity-procured materials and equipment are safeguarded and prudently and responsibly used.
- Together with staff, identify issues or challenges to effective implementation of workplan activities, and develop solutions or strategies to address the challenges.
- Consult with other PATH staff for guidance on program development, implementation, and evaluation.
- Act as the point person with donors and partners in-country.
- Represent PATH on national working groups and task forces as appropriate and maintain contacts with other organizations working in TB control.

Qualifications:
- Advanced degree (MS, MPH, MD, and/or PhD) in a relevant field plus a minimum of 10 years of experience in implementation and management of international health development projects, specifically with TB and HIV/AIDS components.
- Experience as a Chief of Party in Sub-Saharan Africa highly desirable.
Proven ability to manage complex projects in TB and TB/HIV.
- Experience working in Democratic Republic of the Congo or other areas of conflict is highly desired.
- Excellent bridge-building skills with demonstrated ability to work successfully with NTPs, donors, partners, consultants, and staff in delivering project results in a timely manner.
- Demonstrated knowledge of TB program management principles and technical expertise in TB control.
- Demonstrated knowledge of USAID and PEPFAR regulations and procedures pertaining to activity design/implementation and experience as a Chief of Party.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the relevant socioeconomic, institutional and policy issues related to this project.
