 Job Description
 
  • Review and analysis of the EVAW Special Fund (EVAW SF) financial and technical support to NGOs to provide protection and services for women victims of violence and women at risk.
  • Consultations with EVAW SF team and review all related documents including proposals, grant agreements, progress reports to assess the financial and technical support provided to NGOs.
  • Consultation and coordination with EVAW SF advisory board, partners and other relevant stakeholders to review and analyse the overall protection and services available for women victims of violence and women at risk in Afghanistan, agencies/organizations providing and supporting such services, issues related to provision and expansion of protection and services
  • Related documents reviewed, field visits to referral centers, consultations with staff and other stakeholders.
  • Assessment report and recommendation to the UNIFEM Country Director.  
 Candidate Profile
 

Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree  in Development Studies, Public Administration, Economics, Social Sciences, International Relations, Political Sciences, or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years progressively relevant professional work experience in the area of gender and development, violence against women, advocacy and policy and program management, ideally in a post conflict setting.
  • Familiarity with elimination of violence against women initiatives, stakeholders and partners in Afghanistan.
  • Technical experience in gender analysis and monitoring and evaluation with participatory approaches.
  • Sound knowledge of international standards on human rights, women’s rights and related instruments.
  • A proven ability to liaise with a myriad of stakeholders and partners, including government, civil society, international organizations and grassroots organizations.
  • A proven history of leadership, management and staff supervision through a style of mutual accountability and professional development.
