Job Description |
|
|
- Ensure delivery of training meets in-country plans and targets.
- Ensure project income, scorecard targets and intermediate outcomes met.
- Ensure project delivery documentation is completed to agreed deadlines
- Ensure relevant evaluation tools are used as outlined in project planning documentation.
- Ensure monitoring and evaluation frameworks/methodologies are followed in all aspects of project delivery.
- Ensure that the British Council’s Equal Opportunities & Diversity and where appropriate Child.
- Monitor budgets for income and expenditure on a monthly basis in line with delegated role on the Council’s accounting system (FABS/SAP)
- Report on potential risk to the project - legal, financial and reputational - on a monthly basis to Line Manager as part of the risk reporting framework
- Regular liaison with Schools projects to ensure cross promotion and effective use of resources to maximise impact for the British Council
- regular liaison with FCR unit to explore opportunities for income generation and contribute ELT expertise to bids as required
- Contribute towards the development of appropriate products to meet local context needs as agreed with Regional English Lead, including mapping of global English content to national curriculum and textbooks
- Ensure product development is in line with regional project objectives.
- Contribute as required to regional project design.
- Ensure that the British Council’s Equal Opportunities and Diversity (EO&D) agenda is integrated into projects at design stage.
- Contribute operationally, in conjunction with the local management team, towards building positive relationships with key external contacts and partners
- Manage the development and maintenance of a contacts database of teachers in country and regular communications with this target group is planned and delivered.
- Identify opportunities for new strategic partnerships in-country which would support the regional strategy and project implementation
build and maintain networks of EL officials within federal and national government
- Advise Ministry of Education and District Education Heads on ELT processes and policy maintain and foster links with local English teachers association

Qualifications:
- Context, market and stakeholders (level 2)
- Development and delivery (level 2)
- Managing risk (level 2)
- Monitoring, evaluating and reporting (level 2)
- Teacher training/trainer training skills (senior level)
- Experience of teaching/ training within a state system
- Substantial teaching experience
- DELTA , PGCE in ELT/TESOL or Trinity Diploma in TESOL
- MA in ELT.
- Young learners/Primary ELT
- Working in developing countries.
