Job Description |
|
|
- Develop policy-oriented analysis in the area of wages, including on minimum wages, wages and macroeconomics outcomes, wages and productivity, wages and poverty.
- Design and implement research activities in the area of wages.
- Prepare high level publications on wages policies and provide substantive inputs for the Global Wages Report.
- Design and write guides, manuals and others didactical supports relating to wages policies and targeting policy makers, including those involved in collective bargaining.
- Provide policy advice and guidance, in close consultation with ILO field offices, to ILO constituents on wages determination and policies; support high level policy dialogue in this domain.
- Contribute to activities aiming to maintain up-to-date ILO knowledge on wages policies and help ensure that TRAVAIL remains relevant to evolving developments in this field worldwide.
- Provide guidance on wages policies to TRAVAIL policy-oriented work in the field of working time, decent work for domestic workers, work and family reconciliation and equity in paid work.
- Formulate projects proposals related to wages policies; participate to corresponding resource mobilisation.
- Participate in high level international events notably to promoting ILO standards and policies in the area of wages.
- These specific duties should be carried out in conjunction with the following generic duties adapted to the work programme in question.

Qualifications:
- Advanced university degree or first level university degree with two years experience (in addition to the minimum experience required below) with demonstrated expertise in the relevant technical field.
- Eight years experience at the national level or five years at the international level.
- Excellent command of one ILO official working language (English, French, Spanish). Proficiency in the other two languages will be an advantage.
- Evaluation (which may include one or several written tests) and interviews for this post will take place in principle between the last week of March and the end of May 2012. Candidates are requested to ensure their availability should they be short listed for further consideration.
