 Job Description
 
  • Respond to humanitarian emergencies under the management of the CARE emergency unit.
  • Support CARE’s emergency response capacity through rapid deployment to those Country Offices which request additional resources (often within 48-72 hours);
  • Provide rapid needs assessments,Write situation reports, concept notes, proposals and budgets.
  • Provide analysis of humanitarian contexts, Participate in programme development and management.
  • Respond to humanitarian emergencies under the management of the CARE emergency unit.
  • Support CARE’s emergency response capacity through rapid deployment to those Country Offices which request additional resources.

 Candidate Profile
 

Qualifications:

  • Build capacity within CARE to respond efficiently to emergencies including identification of training possibilities.
  • Develop concept notes, proposals and oversee the implementation and financial management of emergency-related projects (potentially includes development and/or revision of budgets, staffing plans, reporting, monitoring and evaluation, accountability, etc).
  • Maintain excellent relationship with Canadian donors as well as Country Office management, as assigned by the Emergency Coordinator, potentially including representation at Canadian Government events, fund raising events, media, etc.
  • Liaise with country offices to identify new programming initiatives and potential Canadian funding sources.
