Job Description |
|
|
- Oversees corporate donor accounts including research, identification and development of new opportunities for corporate partnerships and community relationships; stewards and maintains current donors;
- Conducts and coordinates the research, writing, submission and follow-up of funding proposals including sponsorship and cause related marketing to foundations, corporations, government and other organizations; matches prospective funders to organizational priorities;
- Collaborates with other members of the provincial and zone teams, as well as volunteer committees regarding fundraising initiatives;
- Participates in domestic and international appeals;
- Provides leadership and training to volunteers to enhance the capacity of the provincial fundraising team;
- Manages all information for donors through the Raisers Edge database;
- As part of the BC Provincial Fund Development Team, participates in strategic development of fundraising activities.

Qualifications:
Minimum qualifications for this position include completion of post secondary education in marketing, communication, business, fundraising or related field and three to six years experience in corporate fund development or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong verbal & written communication skills in English essential; fluency in a second language an asset;
- Proven track record in developing successful business relationships, securing key partnerships and soliciting funds for not-for profit organisations;
- Demonstrated experience in grant writing and preparing customized grant applications and proposals;
- AFP membership or CFRE certification an asset;
- Ability to be self-directed and productively manage multiple priorities within tight deadlines;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) essential; Raisers Edge experience preferred;
- Experience working with volunteers, diverse populations and understanding cultural issues a definite asset;
- Ability to work non-traditional hours when the Red Cross is on Disaster/International appeals;
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license and a current Emergency First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain certification;
- This position is subject to a successful criminal reference check.
