Job Description |
|
|
Planning and management of internal services
- Manage the outsourced functions to achieve contractual service standards;
- Ensure compliance with corporate and local standards in the areas of health & safety, security, business continuity provision, procurement, and legal and status related matters;
- Achieve value for money.
Finance decision support and risk management
- Manage all financial planning, accounting and reporting activities, including business risk management (FCCF);
- Provide training and support to staff on financial management and control procedures;
- Meet corporate standards for finance and risk management
HR management
- Implement the corporate and country HR strategy, policies, procedures and systems;
- Prepare the monthly payroll;
- Provide staff and management with accurate and accessible information and advice on relevant HR services including recruitment, training, and performance management;
- Ensure timely and accurate periodic HR and performance management returns;
- Deliver or coordinate the country training and learning & development programme and Equal Opportunity and Diversity (EO&D) and Environmental framework tools (EFT) initiatives.
IT management
- Represent the IT function for South India and liaise with external suppliers to ensure the provision of efficient and effective IT services;
- Ensure IT procurement meets standards and policy and act as point of contact for the Global Service Desk and Global Business Support.
- Team leadership and line management
- Ensure the team is proactive, empowered, and customer focused;
- Performance manage the Internal Services team according to corporate standards and deadlines.

- Financial planning & management (All) – Level 3
- HR management (All) – Level 2
- Business management & development
- Managing relationships with customers, clients and stakeholders (Level 2)
- Resource management for business development and implementation (Level 2)
- Project & contract management
- Tendering and procurement (Level 2)
- Managing risk (Level 2)
- Marketing & customer services
- Building strong relationships which add value to the United Kingdom (Level 2)
- Obtaining and evaluating feedback (Level 2
- 5 years’ experience of working in a challenging HR, finance or administration environment in a large organisation.
- Knowledge and familiarity with the systems and processes within the British Council or a similar organisation.
- Budget management experience
- Degree level or equivalent
- Relevant in-house training and qualifications
- Team management
- Experience of managing large budgets
- Professional qualification in a related field.
