• Using traditional and social media tools to place stories on IFPRI research in
  newspapers, magazines, generalist scholarly publications, radio, and
  television, as well as in the communications outlets of stakeholder groups and
  forums.
  
  
• Ensuring coverage of IFPRI research in both developed and developing countries by
  fostering and maintaining relationships with journalists and stakeholders
  around the world
  
  
• Overseeing the execution of IFPRI media and communications outreach campaigns, as well as marketing campaigns for select communications products
  
  
• Providing media and presentation training for research staff
  
  
• Supporting the director of the Communications Division in representing IFPRI within the CGIAR system, with regard to outreach/communications activities
  
  
• Supervising the Media and Outreach team
  
  
• Developing an annual work plan and budget.
  

• Master’s degree in Journalism, Communications, International Affairs, International Development, or related field, or equivalent
  
• 
  7+ years media experience, of which 5 years must be working with international
  media/communications outlets, preferably in an NGO setting
  
• Working knowledge of and contact base within media, research, and stakeholder communities
  
• Strong writing and editing ability and excellent English-language skills
  
• Ability to prioritize work and handle multiple tasks
  
• Demonstrated experience managing staff and/or interns
  
• Knowledge of international development issues
  
• Demonstrated ability to interact professionally with a diverse employee population and with all levels of staff and management.
• International experience, especially in Asia, Africa, or Latin America
• Fluency in more than one language.
