The role:
- With deployments normally ranging from 4 weeks to 4 months, this roving post is a unique opportunity to work in a wide range of countries and across humanitarian issues. You’ll be deployed to the humanitarian situations where there is greatest need for clear and rapid analysis to tell the world what is happening and persuade decision-makers to do what is needed.
- You’ll get straight to the heart of issues, quickly analysing the key issues and establishing strong advocacy strategies. You’ll also engage with governments, key decision-makers and United Nations representatives – using your tact, diplomacy and outstanding interpersonal skills to shape and influence opinion and bring about real change. At the same time, you’ll be a spokesperson for Oxfam telling national and international press what is happening and what needs to be done.
- You’ll be part of a national and international team, building capacity and consulting closely with colleagues so that our advocacy strategies are sustainable and informed by those closest to the ground.

- You will be a calm, adaptable and sensitive team player with excellent inter-personal skills, able to support and consult colleagues in pressurised contexts and provide policy leadership and vision to a global team.
