Job Description |
|
|
- To manage HAI nutrition activities in Darfur, ensuring an efficient humanitarian response and an improvement in the nutrition status of older people.
- To provide technical support and advice to staff involved in nutrition.
- To be responsible for keeping good relations with governmental institutions, humanitarian agencies and their authorities involved with nutrition services.
- To carry out regular visits to the hospitals in Darfur and to field locations those include HAI activities.
- To compile all progress and final reports on nutrition interventions in collaboration with the Programme Director and other senior staff.
- To advocate on behalf of older people in Darfur in order to promote their inclusion in nutrition programmes outside the reach of HAI activities.

Qualifications:
- A qualified nutritionist, or with equivalent knowledge acquired in the field, you will have extensive experience of managing health and nutrition programmes in emergency or development contexts, including staff management and capacity development.
- Demonstrated experience carrying out nutrition needs assessments and knowledge of programme cycle management (including M&E) are essential for this role, as is experience of working in Africa and insecure/highly sensitive political environments.
- MSc in Human Nutrition or demonstrated equivalent knowledge acquired in the field.
- Extensive experience of managing nutrition programmes in emergency or development contexts, including staff management and capacity development.
- Experience of work in insecure or highly sensitive political environments.
