Job Description |
|
|
- Working with Greenbelt Alliance field staff to collect targeted information about upcoming land use plans or development proposals.
- Using a series of spreadsheets, maps, and web tools to collect population and other demographic information about a specific area.
- Running the URBEMIS software package to determine the projected greenhouse gas emissions from the land use plan or development proposal.
- Writing up these results, or other analysis of the results, for use in campaigns.
- The Policy Intern may also undertake other tasks to support priority campaigns, such as creating or commissioning GIS maps, researching land use policy recommendations, or reviewing City and County land-use planning documents such as Environmental Impact Reports and drafting comment letters.

Qualifications:
- Graduate students and recent college graduates are encouraged to apply, but advanced undergraduates will also be considered.
- Greenbelt Alliance is seeking candidates with strong quantitative and qualitative research skills, strong writing skills, and a friendly and professional demeanor.
- Knowledge of urban planning or land use policies is helpful.
- Ideal candidates should have strong organizational skills and an ability to work independently to meet deadlines.
- Excel skills are a must; knowledge of GIS software and/or the URBEMIS software package is a plus.
