Job Description |
|
|
- It’s about making sure all our local procurement activities are well planned and managed.
- It will mean developing strategic procurement plans that guarantee effective logistics support for our programmes.
- Part of that will involve identifying potential vendors and putting in place a preferred supplier network that allows efficient and ethical purchases.
- It will also be down to you to oversee all tender and bid processes.
- We’ll expect you to benchmark standards and develop the kind of systems that deliver incremental cost savings while ensuring accountability.
- You’ll also be asked to build team capacity and work closely with country staff, using your knowledge and expertise to advise them on the best way to get maximum value from their budgets.

Qualifications:
- As someone with experience of running purchasing and logistics in emergency and development contexts, you’ll have a good mix of practical and technical skills.
- That will include knowledge of customs procedures, freight regulations and INCOTERM.
- Highly-motivated and well-organised you’ll be someone who can manage people and processes equally well.
- The kind of person who can adapt your style to work well with a wide range of people and build mutually beneficial relationships.
- Good written and spoken English and French is essential.
