Job Description |
|
|
- Provide proper operations of all aspects concerning logistical support for medical activity in the medical tents campus and later at the reconstructed clinic:
- Install and maintain power generators, electrical network, refrigerators, plumbing system and its accessories.
- Help establish optimal distribution of furniture, AC, refrigerators, light sources in the campus and its dependencies.
- Work together with the medical hardware (i.e. surgery), lab hardware and imagistic team to provide support for their activity.
- Define the equipment needed to support the medical activity at the relocation site, the reconstruction site and for the transfer of materials to these sites.
- Define the safe handling conditions for equipment for prevention of accidents or accidental loss of equipment due to improper handling, storage or neglect.
- Be an active part of executing the installation and maintenance operations, including the planning and transfer operation during the relocation.
- Train at site HCN team members to develop technical, maintenance skills and leadership: among CRS team but specially at the level of HSFS team.
- Work together with the HSFS team to provide transfer of knowhow and troubleshooting practical training, develop simple and comprehensive trainings to improve problem solving, decision making and teamwork.
- Support strategic – tactical unit by providing feedback from operations level of activity:
- Provide information regarding anticipated shortage of spare parts for power generator, electrical network, water pipes, sewage pipes and its accessories; be proactive in ordering of supplies to avoid shortages.
- Analyze and recommend solutions to optimize hardware usage.
- Create premises and support the hardware installation of an advanced teleconferencing center to serve the educational process and international exchange of competencies.
- Optimize the usage of logistics to support the Budget and Financial management:
Correlate with financial planning department for hardware procurement and maintenance
- Avoid waste of resources: establish power generator policies – hours of functioning, periodic maintenance, to optimize fuel usage and prolong generator life. Efficient water usage policies.
- Provide information and elaborate recycling strategies.
- Supervision of operations and logistics department in order to provide the best conditions to operate a state of art of uninterrupted medical care.
- Monitor the managed logistics permanently and report promptly problems and shortages.
- Create and provide support for best usage practices by creating specific forms, training materials and training sessions. Provide continuous support for personnel training.

Qualifications:
-
Certified Electrician (8 years plus experience) with plumbing and HVAC experience.

Master’s degree or equivalent work experience.

Previous experience working in resource limited settings, experience in Haiti desirable.

Previous experience in maintaining and fixing generators, water pumping systems,HVAC systems, and refrigerators,
-
Ability to work as part of a multi-cultural team.

Previous experience teaching or training technical trades, highly desirable.

Excellent French and English oral and written communication skills.
