Job Description |
|
|
|
To coordinate and manage multiple projects and project activities to meet the aims and specific outcomes of each project within a given time-frame and on-budget. Specifically, responsibilities within individual projects could include:
- Clearly understand the need and aims for the project
- Establish mutually-agreed project workplan including roles and responsibilities, and effective internal communication structures
- Build relationships with other project staff and stakeholders and encourage and enable positive and effective team working
- Manage/monitor the project budget
- Manage/monitor/deliver project activities against agreed deadlines, possibly including design and delivery of training activities where appropriate
- Manage/conduct project monitoring and evaluation
- Act as key contact for donors and partners
- Report progress internally and externally
- Seek opportunities for enhancing project outcomes, longevity and profile.

Qualifications:
- Degree level or equivalent experience/qualification in a relevant field
- At least 2 years experience working in a similar post or with a similar organisation
- Good understanding of the project cycle and of monitoring and evaluation procedures e.g. survey and research techniques
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
- Excellent interpersonal skills and effective cross-cultural team-working
- High standard of numeracy and confidence interpreting and presenting financial information
- Effective time management skills and ability to manage multiple tasks
- Ability to take the initiative, overcome challenges, and learn from difficult situations
- Ability to recognise and seek out opportunities to enhance project impacts
Positive, team-oriented approach
- At least 2 years’ experience of training and/or facilitation is highly desirable
- Good presentation and proposal-writing skills
- Understanding and experience of designing and delivering training
- Experience working with donors and maintaining good donor relationships
- Experience working internationally, particularly with developing countries, and in the
environment/development sector
- Ability to work in languages other than English.
