Job Description |
|
|
- Provide support to the Senior Economist in the dialogue with the government and develop close and productive relations with clients and stakeholders in the government, academia, and civil society.
- Manage and contribute to economic monitoring and contribute to the macroeconomic work program for Malaysia including the Malaysia Economic Monitor.
- Work on a macroeconomic database for Malaysia and use this to prepare various economic monitoring reports.
- Contribute to the other tasks in the work program as needed in consultation with the Senior Economist.
- Contribute to work program of the broader Malaysia and EASPR team as needed.

Qualifications :
- Minimum of Masters Degree in economics and three years of relevant experience.
- Experience working on Malaysia is desirable.
- Excellent analytical and quantitative skills.
- Experience with statistical packages is required.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively and sensitively with teams and country counterparts, including listening skills, training and capacity development skills, and ability to adapt advice to local institutional realities.
- Commitment to teamwork, knowledge-sharing, and ability to influence across organizational boundaries.
- Excellent English language skills are required.
- Good command of Malay and/or Thai desirable.
- Excellent writing and communication skills.
