Job Description |
|
|
- Participate as part of the Thematic Knowledge Services team delivering an integrated information and research service to AusAID clients.
- Provide research and reference services using a range of hard copy and electronic resources, including information databases, to meet client requests and anticipate client needs.
- Provide written reports and summaries of information relevant to the needs of AusAID clients using a
variety of formats and communication channels. Develop a training and education program, including new starter and induction orientation, as well as provide training (both to individuals and groups) in the use of a range of electronic information services. Be responsible for the Thematic Knowledge Services intranet site, working closely with the Content Librarian, to manage content and develop practical initiatives on the site to meet client needs. Assist the Manager of Thematic Knowledge Services on operational and strategic initiatives within the Section, including staff management as required. |

Qualifications:
- Strong interpersonal and networking skills with an ability to work independently, as a member of a team, and with relevant stakeholder groups.
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically and define practical solutions for continuous improvement in the provision of information and research services relevant to client needs.
- Effective oral and written communication skills with demonstrated ability to provide a high quality research and reference service within a client-focused work environment.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement relevant training programs, and the ability to train clients in the effective use of a range of electronic information products and services.
- Sound understanding of good knowledge management and content management practices relevant to the provision of an integrated library and information service.
