• Perform method validation on existing plant and soil analysis ISO 17025 standards in preparation for ASL’s application for accreditation before June 2010 and later on continue method validation of other SOPs that will be included in the expansion of ASL’s scope for accreditation.
  
• Perform analysis of samples using high end instrumentations such as ICP-OES, FAAS, GFAAS, within the day’s sample quota following ASL internal QA procedures for evaluating quality of results.
  
• Develop and validate new methods of analysis for plant, soil and water samples following ASL QA protocol to meet requests for new methods and other emerging needs of customers as per agreed time frame between the Asst. Manager II, researcher and customer.
  
• Train and supervise RTs and new staffs for implementation of validated methods such as extraction and digestion SOPs and evaluate competence of staff/trainee to perform such analysis within the agreed target date of completion set by the Asst. Manager II and the researcher.
  
• Perform all other related duties that may be assigned from time to time by the supervisor.

Qualifications, Experience :

• Licensed chemist or agricultural chemist.
  
• At least 2 years relevant work experience.
  
• Excellent skills in analytical chemistry and instrumentation, proficiency in quality assurance, oral and written communication, database and spreadsheet use.
