Job Description |

|
|
Under the supervision of the Senior Research Manager, this position is in-charge for the germplasm exchange activities of the gene bank by:
- Receiving all seed requests and responding to requestors and acknowledging their receipts
Informing the requestors of all the necessary documents (e.g. import permit, phytosanitary certificates, SMTA/MTAs to comply etc.) needed before the seeds can be prepared and delivered.
- Preparing lists of the requested accessions from the requests’ retrievals; etc. and forwarding to the concerned staff for preparation.
- Checking all the accompanying documents of the requested seeds before forwarding them to SHU.
- Liaising with Seed Health Unit in relation to sending out to requestors and receiving in seeds from collaborators and or seed donors.
- Liaising with officers of the Philippine Quarantine Services as required.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Major in Crop Science. (Preferably with specialization on Plant Genetic Resources, Seed Technology, Crop Physiology, or Plant Breeding)
- Relevant experience and or exposure to seed technology or genetic resources management activities
- Knowledge on seed exchange policies and material transfer agreements an advantage; Computer skills especially in EXCEL and ACCESS. Communication and Interpersonal Skills.
