Job Description |
|
|
- Assess the status of epidemiological services including the disease reporting system and the capacity for detecting epidemiologically significant events in poultry and other livestock.
- Advise on the requirements for gathering appropriate disease intelligence for early warning and strategy development.
- Provide on-the-job and workshop training in epidemiology and disease reporting.
- Assist in updating a national animal disease reporting system including a “flash” reporting system for epidemiologically-significant events as early warning of developing epidemics.
- Advising for needed updating of currently installed software for passive animal disease surveillance.
- Assist in developing training material on Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) epidemiological investigation and surveillance.

Qualifications & Experience :
- A veterinarian graduated from a recognized university with a postgraduate degree in epidemiology/relevant discipline.
- At least seven years of relevant field experience.
- A nationally recognized expert in veterinary epidemiology, preferably with particular experience and exposure in the field of HPAI and other related paramyxovirus disease surveillance in the region.
- Extent of experience in managing animal health related programmes in India.
- Extent of experience developing and implementing capacity building/training programmes for veterinary workers.
