 Job Description
 
  • Promote the area of sensor informatics across CSIRO.
  • Participate in existing projects either through project leadership or direct participation as a team member and as a research leader.
  • Through the creation of excellent research outcomes, build the international reputation of the Tasmanian ICT Centre in the field of sensor informatics.
  • Build CSIRO’s reputation for the application of leading-edge ICT solutions for the delivery of transformational outcomes in a range of application areas.
  • Promote the benefits arising from a multi-disciplinary approach to solving complex problems.
  • Commitment to excellence in research, Commitment to adoption of research results to ensure adoption and impact.
  • Ability to develop collaborations both within CSIRO and with external research and development partners, Excellence in influence and communication skills
 Candidate Profile
 

Qualifications:

  • Doctorate in a relevant field of computer science, system engineering or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 5 years demonstrated experience in one or more of the following science areas, Computational/augmented provenance.
  • Cyberinfrastructures, Information modeling, Spatial-temporal metadata, Semantic Web.
  • Evidence of impact in research field through scientific citizenship, strong publication record and ongoing research agenda.
  • Evidence of impact in research field through the supervision of junior researchers and students.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex conceptual problems independently.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary research team.
