Job Description |
|
|
- Conceptualise new research in this area, and work across IIED’s Groups to influence and add vale to existing work.
- Work with local partners to design methodologies for policy and field work.
- Work with local partners especially through ongoing engagement with existing partners, and the development of new partnerships.
- Engage with international stakeholders to further the work in this area.
- Prepare funding proposals and grant applications to extend this programme of work, add new areas of work, and raise any additional funds required to ensure that the post-holder’s own costs (including overheads) are covered.
- Prepare and manage annual work plans and budgets and report to donors in connection with the workplan and strategy.

Qualifications:
- Post-graduate qualification in a relevant subject, PhD in a relevant subject area.
- Experience of policy-oriented research in environment and development issues.
- Solid relevant work experience with international agencies, NGOs and / or research organizations including some field experience in research in China.
- A demonstrable understanding of the impact and influence of China on global environment and development challenges, developed through experience.
- Experience in developing large research proposals and working with other groups to do so; experience in fundraising for significant projects and liaising with funding agencies. Demonstrated skills in donor/client relations and promotion of findings.
- Solid project management experience, including the management of budgets and people.
- Awareness of international policy frameworks and agreements affecting sustainable development.
