• To be responsible for the implementation and maintenance of appropriate applications and database technologies for Christian Aid in accordance with IS strategy
  
• To develop and maintain Christian Aids bespoke/configured database systems, ensuring business needs are met and compliance with IS Strategy as set by the ICT Steering Group.
• Works in the Systems Development unit within the Information Systems Division
  
• Reports to the Solutions Development Manager, keeping them informed of issues affecting Christian Aid’s Database Applications and the steps being taken to resolve problems Supervises the work of Database Analyst/Officers on a day to day basis
  
• Works closely with key stakeholders and users at all levels in the organisation, particularly the Finance, PL&D, PFAST and Supporter Relations Teams
  
• Works closely with internal & external project managers, third party suppliers, ISD Projects Staff and the rest of the IS Division on system updates & rollouts
  
• Liaises with individuals from all levels both inside and outside the organisation

Qualifications:

• Good Degree qualification or equivalent essential
  
• Technology qualifications (e.g. MCSD, MCP in a related area or a technical degree) a
  distinct advantage
  
• PRINCE2 practitioner preferred
  
• Considerable experience of working in Systems Development
  
• Relevant experience of NET Application Development, specifically C# and ASP.NET.
  
• Relevant experience of SQL Server database development including T/SQL, Stored
  Procedures, Functions
  
• Relevant enterprise of database application design
  
• Supporting SQL Server database applications
  
• Excel macros (VBA) and MS Office template writing

Desirable:

• SQL Server Integration Services and Reporting Services
  
• Using one or many reporting technologies (SQL Server Reporting Services)
  
• Visual Basic for Applications (VBA)
  
• XML technologies (ideally SQL/XML) ,VB Script
  
• Internet and web applications: IIS
  
• CRM (Dynamics CRM and Ascent)
  
• Working with large, mission critical database applications
  Sharepoint Development.
