Job Description |
|
|
- Manage the Academys network (including LANs, WANs and wireless) infrastructure, servers, mobile and other workstations.
- Establish and maintain service level agreements to meet curriculum and administrative needs. Assure the administration and maintenance of the campus networks, computer stations and software for schools labs, library, etc.
- Manage and develop upgrades to the Academys telephone system and oversee all telephone changes, including routing for office assignments.
- Oversee all help-desk activities at the Academy level.
- Define and manage the Academys ICT staff, including recruitment, training and appraisal.
- Contribute to the budgeting and procurement of hardware, software and services.
- Develop, implement and monitor the Academys practices for data protection, Internet use, e-mail, security and ICT resource management. Ensure the preparation and maintenance of documentation, manuals and user notes.
- Ensure that the network is operational 24/7 and appropriate back-up protocols are implemented. Be responsible for regular maintenance programme, resolving failures in hardware and software and ensuring appropriate housekeeping tasks are implemented.
- Liaise with the Academies Unit on ICT development and support and represent the Academy at associated meetings.
- Provide support and guidance to pupils and staff in the use of ICT and provide feedback to pupils using specialist skills, training and/or experience.
- Train staff on a wide range of applications used throughout the Academy.
- Comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, health, safety, welfare, security, confidentiality and data protection, reporting any concerns to the Academys senior management team.
- Contribute to the overall aims and objectives of the Academies; take initiative to establish constructive relationships with other Academies and AKDN agencies in liaison with teaching staff; appreciate and support the roles of other members of the Academy team; and attend and participate in relevant meetings as required.
- Undertake any other duties as required.

Qualifications:
- Demonstrable professional experience of managing an organisations (preferably educational institutions) ICT network and infrastructure.
A minimum of 10 years experience in managing a service-oriented ICT department with Service Level Agreements and visible measures of service delivery.
- A relevant degree in ICT systems management a Masters degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience is desirable.
- A record of success in attracting, motivating and building an IT team to meet the needs of a growing organisation, as well as strong leadership qualities and the ability to foster teamwork and a sense of responsibility among the various constituents and users of the IT infrastructure.
- Demonstrable experience with advanced A/V facilities, e.g., video conferencing, web-based tools, social networking and new media technologies.
- An excellent understanding of the territorys Internet and power infrastructure to mitigate disruptions to the IT needs of the Academy.
- A track record of successfully implementing new systems, processes and applications, utilising sound management practices and principles.
- Proven ability to build and sustain key relationships with senior management and all levels of an organisations community.
- Strong service ethic, including a commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
- Highly organised and able to set priorities and keep to deadlines.
- The ability to work in a dynamic and quickly changing environment, handling multiple priorities/projects.
- Cultural sensitivity, a high level of integrity, the ability to deal with confidential information and the exercise of good judgement are essential.
- Excellent command of English is essential - both written and spoken.
