Job Description |
|
|
- Provide information and analyses towards the development of sector policy and strategies, with consideration for the impact on social development and protection, particularly on themes addressing poverty, gender and development, child labor, HIV/AIDS and human trafficking, involuntary resettlement, and indigenous peoples in DMCs, in consultation with relevant government agencies and Resident Missions (RMs).
- Support the development, processing and administration of non-complex loan and TA projects in the assigned sector, ensuring compliance with social safeguards.
- Prepare terms of reference for international and national consultants including independent monitoring and evaluation on social safeguards and social development and protection aspects.
- Contribute in the identification of opportunities for ADB assistance projects aimed at operationalizing social safeguards.
- Integrate ADB’s policies and guidelines in the design and implementation of transport sector projects.
- Prepare detailed reports on social and poverty analysis, summary of resettlement and indigenous peoples’ frameworks and plans, and other social development reports as required to support loan and TA operations.
- Provide leadership and support to reporting staff.
- Supervise the performance of reporting staff, providing clear direction and regular monitoring and feedback on performance.
- Ensure the on-going learning and development of reporting staff.

| Qualifications:
- A university degree in sociology, economics, applied social science or other related fields; preferably at post-graduate level or its equivalent
- Suitability to undertake the responsibilities mentioned above at the required level
- At least 6 years of relevant professional experience in involuntary resettlement and indigenous peoples, planning and implementation, social development and protection including poverty-related issues across social sectors, or related area as well as in project administration
- Experience in application of multilateral development bank’s policies and procedures for social development, involuntary settlement, and indigenous peoples
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
- International experience working in development in several countries, preferably with demonstrated experience at the field level in the South Asia region.
