Kenwa-Kenya Network of women with AIDS has student intern opportunities both under graduate and master student where students get a first hand experience opportunity to work and exercise skills , have real life practical exposure of working in a developing country in one or more of the following areas;
- Community Reconciliation and Reintegration
- Primary Health Care
- Mother and Child Care
- Skills Training and Small Business Development
- Gender-based violence prevention and response
- HIV/AIDS awareness and Prevention, Treatment care and support
- A children’s home and orphanage
- Microloans
- Social Justice /human rights in resource constrained areas
Student is charged to carry on the following under program officers as supervisors:
· Preparing project work-plans, budgets and ensuring program activities are within the budget.
· Facilitating capacity enhancement for KENWA member groups and individuals including development of strategic plans.
· Reviewing project proposals from funding organizations & recommending for activities for implementation. Matching donor priorities and community needs
· Conducting pre-funding assessment of potential groups and organizations, individuals
· Coordinating HIV and AIDS related organizational events such as staff learning forums towards addressing HIV and AIDS in the workplace. outreaches, outreach counseling and testing, outreach educations communication and information fora
· Proposal development & report writing
· Coordinating HIV and AIDS research related activities.
· Coordinating development of project documentaries.
· . Monitor and evaluate ongoing projects
· Be INTERN foster PARENTS under supervision of home coordinator where they are assigned all duties of a foster mother up to 4 children per intern.
· Administrate human resource duties eg organize workshops and trainings with other staff.
