 Job Description
 
  • Provide design, graphics, and page layout expertise for FANTA-2 by formatting long-documents, training manuals, technical reports, briefs, job aids and flipcharts, presentations, and posters.
  • Re-create existing complex graphs and logos using Adobe Illustrator.
  • Create complex flowcharts and figures using a variety of software.
  • Contribute to FANTA-2’s growing catalog of images (EPS files) used to instruct diverse audiences on various topics from anthropometry and tools to assess malnutrition, to hygiene and sanitation.
  • Prepare graphics for placement on web sites, as needed.
  • Identify and contact printers/key production vendors. Develop, coordinate and manage solicitations (e.g. bids and estimates) of appropriate printers based on scope and complexity of project.
  • Review printer proofs/ bluelines/plates for accuracy and consistency.
  • Facilitate in-house printing and production of simple covers and posters.
  • Maintain electronic product archives, including print job files, PDFs, photos, and graphics.
 Candidate Profile
 

Qualifications & Experience :

  • Masters in one of the following or related fields: Graphic Arts required or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • 2 year(s) of relevant experience required.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience will be accepted in lieu of Masters.
  • Demonstrated experience in using desktop publishing/design software for PC computers, including expert knowledge in the following: Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Adobe Suite: Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator and Acrobat.
  • Aptitude for learning new technology will be beneficial.
  • Samples of portfolio will be required.

Skills:

  • Ability to be a self-starter and solution-oriented comfortable in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to learn the current FANTA-2 style but also able to make recommendations on improving templates and artwork.
  • Ability to present information and messages to meet the needs and learning styles of diverse audiences.
  • Ensures all work is of high quality, consistent with branding/image, meets the needs of clients, targets audience special needs, while attaining an optimal mix of usability and cost-effective design.
  • Ability to work effectively with teams, clients, consultants, vendors, and others, as necessary, to fulfill responsibilities.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills; must be thorough, detail oriented, and skilled at copy-editing.
