Job Description |
|
|
- Ensuring technical standards in the all the projects in the two regions and provide oversight on technical aspects at the regional level.
- Develop standard specifications, quality criteria, operational processes and procedures, of technical component of projects and ensure compliance.
- Ensure that all projects are executed in pursuance to WaterAid’s Water Quality and Health and Safety policy.
- Undertake technical feasibility studies, carry out design and cost estimating works, monitor technical performance through technical audits
- Support the technical skill mapping and capacity building of partners, and support teams to implement technical works.
- Build a database of technical support agencies and liaise with them, and provide partners with capacity and support
- Identify and analyse technical issues, encourage projects that are innovative and with learning aspects
- Support in Multi Year Plan and budget processes in the regions.

Qualifications:
- Graduate degree in Civil engineering.
- Additional qualification in WASH Technologies Experience.
- 5 years of relevant work experience, out of which 2 years should be in similar position.
- Hands on experience in developing and adopting WASH technologies and designs.
- Experience of assessing, reviewing and monitoring technical projects.
- Experience of working with NGOs and an understanding of the issues involved.
- Experience of disaster resilient technologies, water resource management and water quality issues.
Skills:
- Command of written English to produce technical documents and reports in good standard.
- Good verbal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain good working relationships.
- Good IT skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook; knowledge and experience of using design and drawing applications.
- Ability to critically review technical options.
- Ability to creatively adopt models to suit local context.
- Ability to negotiate with other agencies and government on collaborative projects.
