Job Description |
|
|
- Develop Rare’s strategy for growth and impact in China within the context of Rare’s global methodology (Pride),which includes the training of partners in formal and informal settings, building a grassroots constituency for the environment, and changing destructive behaviours ofcommunities living in and around areas of importantbiodiversity.
- Expand Rare’s Pride program by engaging partner organizations in jointly-funded projects to achieve lastingconservation outcomes. To include: identification of key international and regional partners, identification of key focal geographies, replicable strategies for conservation and social impact, as well as the marketing, business development,revenue generation, recruiting, and contracting needed to establish critical partnerships to move a joint vision forward.
- Design, plan, and the manage the implementation of new programs, including initially the launch of one major programstarting each year focusing on scalable behavior changecampaigns, and later increasing in number.
- Technical review and formal sign off on project design and implantation, working with staff on enhancing quality of key deliverables and results.
- Participate in monitoring visits to project sitesBusiness/Partnership Development.
- Develop and cultivate networks with Chinese and global partners and supporters, including the applicable branches of the Chinese government.

Qualifications:
- Passion for the sustainable management of China’s environmental assets, biodiversity conservation, and the role of human engagement and behavior in achieving results.
- Experience and knowledge of China’s public and privatesector business practices with a record of achieving results within those networks.
- Graduate degree, e.g. MBA, MA, or equivalent experience,preferably in economics, business management, marketing, natural resources, environmental or development economics, community development or a similar field.
- Minimum of 15 years professional experience, including at least 10 years as a senior manager or team leader.
- Work in international development, social marketing,conservation or environmental issues in or with developing countries a plus but not required.
- Demonstrated ability to generate and manage large, complex business deals or partnerships, manage a sales pipeline, and cultivate and existing network of supporters.
