More than 65 percent of homes in
mountainous rural Honduras do not have access to electricity.
This
project “Shared vision needs a little light” provides a
durable,
portable, solar charged LED lamp to each family in a community
that
directly reduces their household costs and the negative health
and
environmental risks of kersosene, candles or disposable
batteries.
With a long-term view,
working
alongside the model forest partners, the community comes
together to
document it's sustainability situation and priorities and
forms a
Sustainability Committee to initiate new projects in watershed
management, forestry, renewable energy, education, and small
business
development.
