CHF International is an international development organization founded in 1952 that works in conflict-affected and developing countries. We partner with communities around the world to help them to direct the improvement of their lives and livelihoods. We believe that the people best suited to decide what a community needs are the people of the community itself. Our mission is to be a catalyst for long-lasting positive change in low- and moderate-income communities around the world, helping them improve their social, economic and environmental conditions. |
Our aim is to leave behind a legacy of sustainable change and communities that are empowered to drive
their own future development. CHF actively seeks out the needs of the communities where we work through participatory action. We listen to those needs and undertake our work on the basis of those needs. CHF employs local labor, uses local materials, and creates solutions that are appropriate to the
region where they are implemented. Over 95% of our people are from the countries – even the communities – where they work. The aim of all CHF's work is to build the capacity of local partners, governments and the private sector to create communities who are economically, socially and environmentally self-sufficient.
