The IFA, in collaboration with Conflictorium – Museum of Conflict, Ahmedabad, Gujarat invites applications for IFA-Conflictorium Creative and Scholarly projects, under their Archives and Museums Programme
The museum houses seven sections—Conflict Timeline, Gallery of Disputes, Empathy Alley, Moral Compass, Memory Lab, Sorry Tree, and Reading Room. Each section offers unique research and curatorial possibilities, from oral histories and sound essays to zines, workshops, and interactive exhibitions. These collections encourage creative engagement with Gujarat’s history, social structures, ideologies, and personal narratives.
The scope of the creative and scholarly projects invites participants to activate museum rooms as “Parliament/s,” engage with materials at the museum and other cultural archives in Ahmedabad, and transform academic research into interactive and accessible material.
Applicants are encouraged to demonstrate interdisciplinary and collaborative methodologies in developing their outcomes. Scholarly projects may result in research papers, cataloguing projects, public lectures, educational toolkits, and workshops.
Creative projects may involve innovative artistic or curatorial interventions, temporary exhibitions, performances, films, zines, digital storytelling, and podcasts, with public dissemination through offline and online programming.
Selected Project Coordinators will conduct fieldwork at the Conflictorium in Ahmedabad over a period of up to 15 months, with full access to the museum’s collections and resources.
The total project cost should not exceed Rs 3,00,000, including an honorarium of up to 35% of the budget. Only Indian nationals are eligible to apply, either individually or with collaborators, provided all collaborators are Indian citizens.
Applications must include a detailed project proposal, a note on potential public programmes, a timeline, budget, and CV with links to previous work.
The deadline for submission is December 5, 2025, with interviews scheduled for January 2026 and project commencement in February 2026.
