This position will work as part of an accounts payable team to deliver an excellent service to the International Secretariat office in London and regional offices by ensuring payments to suppliers, staff expense claims and other beneficiaries are made in line with Service Level Agreements.

Further to maintaining the purchase and income ledgers so that financial information is up to date and accurate, monitoring the implementation of relevant finance policies and the relevant processes through effective use of the Purchase Order and Travel Management Systems. 

About You

You will have proven experience working in an accounts payable position for a large international organisation, processing payments and invoices with multiple foreign currencies. You will enjoy working as part of an accounts payable team, with excellent communication and influencing skills with colleagues from different international locations.   

Main Responsibilities

Accounts payable process

  • Processing of payments through Lloyds Bank and Western Union.
  • Supporting the Financial Services Unit to process payments up to the approval level.
  • Processing of invoices on legacy system SUN until the end December 2022, then on the D365 (Purchase Requisition and Order system), ensuring compliance with relevant policies.  

Systems support and development

  • Provide assistance for overseas offices using IS systems (SUN, iPOS, D365, Concur), supporting the wider Accounts Payable team as they decentralise system processes through training sessions and create user-friendly guidance and templates where necessary.
  • Challenge the current processes and streamline processes with the new D365 system.
  • Help recruit and induct new overseas finance staff and provide cover when necessary.

Balance Sheet

  • Work closely with overseas finance colleagues to ensure intercompany transactions are correctly recorded and reconciled monthly.
  • Monthly Aged Creditor reports with commentaries.

Skills And Experience

Work Experience: 

  • Managing the Accounts payable section for a large organisation.
  • Development of training materials and best practice procedure guides.
  • Strong financial accounting and control experience.
  • Experience in a large international dynamic organisation with multiple foreign currency payments.
  • Managing the credit card process.

Systems experience:

  • Intermediate excel. 
  • MS Dynamics 365, Concur and SUN (preferred).
