Under the overall supervision of the PSP Officer (Head of PSP team) in charge of PSP Thailand operation, and in close coordination with the PPH Associate, the individual contractor will assist in the following:

Responsibilities:

  • Lead PPH efforts in the country, coordinating a team of two people.
  • Develop PPH strategy which aligns with PPH global strategy and fundraising strategy of UNHCR Thailand.
  • Identify potential partners and donors from corporations, foundations, and philanthropists in Thailand, and build up the relationships with the prospects.
  • Contact potential donors; companies, major donors and HNWIs to develop partnerships with UNHCR.
  • Provide insights and expectations of PPH donors to enhance possibility and efficiency in engaging with donors.
  • Develop fundraising proposals for submission to prospects, in line with the PPH strategies and action plans.
  • Enhance the PPH stewardship in line with the global PPH strategies and policies.
  • Monitoring PPH programme on a regular basis and provide input as part of quarterly reports.
  • Supervise, motivate and manage PPH staff in order to ensure high performance and integration with other colleagues in PSP and UNHCR Thailand.
  • Liaise with global and regional PPH staff as well as field colleagues, when necessary to provide information and answers to the PPH donors.
  • Oversee preliminary due diligence screening research about potential PPH donors, and process the due diligence clearance with the focal point of the global PPH unit.
  • Monitor market trends related to the overall PSP activities, particularly PPH.
  • Ensure the issuance of donation confirmation, upon receipt of the donations from PPH donors and send it to the donors in timely manner.
  • Oversee the process of income recording and prepare report accordingly.
  • Attend local meetings, events and conferences related to the PPH activities in Thailand, and assist to organize briefings, meetings and/or events for UNHCR to PPH donors.
  • Perform other responsibilities/functions deemed necessary or as delegated by the Representative/Associate PSP Officer in order to meet the level of the services in the organization.
  •  Ensure that PPH income targets are achieved according to the set strategy and in a cost effective manner.
  • Number of PPH donors diversified and partnerships with UNHCR continue in a long term manner.
  • Keep abreast of developments on UNHCR’s work both in the country and worldwide and communicate all relevant information to the existing PPH donors.
  • Closely cooperate with the other units in PSP, PPH HQ and other departments in UNHCR Thailand.
  • Positive feedback from existing PPH donor.
  • Positive feedback from colleagues in PSP, UNHCR Thailand, PPH global network.

Requirements:

  • University degree (BA) -preferably in communications and marketing or other related discipline.
  • 3 years relevant experience with Undergraduate degree; or 2 years relevant experience with Graduate degree; or 1 year relevant experience with Doctorate degree.
  •  Experience within the UN system or with an International NGO as a desirable asset.
  • Proven experience working in raising funds from corporations, foundations and philanthropists.
  • Access to a network of business contacts at senior management level in Thailand.
  • Established network in the private sector fundraising sector in Thailand (corporations and/or foundations and/or philanthropists) as an added value.
  • Outgoing and mature attitude with great communication skills and writing skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skill and excellent in building relationships.
  •  Well-organized to manage several stakeholders and ensure to deliver according to deadlines.
  •  Proven ability to deal with multiple tasks in a courteous and service-oriented manner.
  • Solutions driven approach to turn challenges into opportunities.
