Position: Consultant Clinical Psychologist

About The Program

SNEHA’s programme Empowerment Health and Sexuality of Adolescents (EHSAS) works on Empowerment of adolescents and youth in vulnerable communities in Dharavi, Kandivali and Kalwa. We are making efforts towards empowering the adolescents between the age group of 10 to 19 years with the knowledge and perspective building on gender, sexuality, sexual reproductive health and hygiene, physical health, gender based violence and prevention of child sexual abuse.


  • To plan, design and assist in conducting consultations related to enhancing the adolescent mental health intervention – to include supporting conceptualization in a larger context
  • To lead the development of screening tools for identifying adolescents with mental health issues in conjunction with the research team gathering evidence from the field
  • Review scales and tests to be applied to different sets of adolescent groups for assessment of levels of anxiety and depression
  • Planning pilot testing of relevant tools and techniques with various adolescent groups
  • To co-ordinate with Monitoring and Evaluation team for screening data and planning intervention steps
  • To Demonstrate and deal with adolescents with mental health issues effectively through therapy and psycho social support.
  • To supervise clinical Psychologists across all the sites and guide them in screening, treatment, referrals and troubleshooting
  • To train EHSAS staff to screen adolescents for mental health issues and plan appropriate interventions along with the program team
  • To prepare periodic capacity building plan for developing a cadre of barefoot counselors
  • To build the capacity of staff to deliver sessions on emotional resilience, mental health and analysis of
  • pre and post intervention on emotional resilience
  • To conduct capacity building sessions on mental health with parents, health system and ICDS staff
  • To guide EHSAS team in planning and executing community and digital campaigns on mental health
  • To provide relevant analysis of data from practice to policy implementation and advocacy of issues of mental health management in adolescents

Skills and Experience

  • Educational qualification: Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology
  • At least 5 years of experience of working as Clinical Psychologist and using different scales and treatment patterns
  • Prior experience of working with adolescents preferred, including capacity to facilitate group processes – keenness to use digital/social media for building capacities
  • Command over English and Hindi
