A key focus of the role will be understanding and tailoring approaches to diverse audiences across different markets, ensuring messaging and engagement strategies resonate effectively. To be successful in this role, candidates should possess a variety of competencies, including proficiency in managing and measuring digital acquisition channels, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, creative content execution skills, and knowledge of the global fundraising landscape and trends. The consultant plays a critical role in driving the success of UNRWA’s digital fundraising strategy.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and implementation of strategies to acquire, retain, and grow individual donors, maximizing their lifetime value and return on investment. ·
  • Understand and tailor approaches to diverse audiences across different markets, ensuring messaging and engagement strategies resonate effectively with those audiences. 
  • Drive innovation in fundraising approaches, piloting creative strategies, and tools to attract and retain donors. 
  • Segment prospective donor audiences based on behavior, demographics, and donor preferences to optimize acquisition funnels and improve conversion rates. 
  • Work closely with the Donor Experience team to ensure a seamless and engaging journey for donors across all digital touchpoints. 
  •  Plan, execute, and manage paid media campaigns across online and offline channels, including but not limited to website, display and Google search advertising, social media, email marketing, Direct Response TV, online video, OOH, etc. To achieve donor acquisition targets.
  • Develop performance marketing strategies with clear KPIs, monitor ROAS, CPA, conversion rates, and optimize campaigns for efficiency and growth. · Manage the ad agency and media partners to ensure effective planning, buying, and performance optimization of all paid media activities.
  • In collaboration with the content team, oversee the creation of engaging visual and written content for various channels.
  • Research, test, and launch new digital channels and products that align with UNRWA’s fundraising strategy and maximizes value. 
  • Stay up to date with the latest digital trends and best practices and make recommendations for improvements. 
  • Build and manage partnerships with digital partners, including advertising and creative agencies, and key stakeholders, influencers, and other vendors to maximize exposure and reach. 
  • Oversee and manage influencer marketing campaigns to meet fundraising objectives. 
  • Build the team's capacity and take on supervisory responsibilities for new staff supporting the effective delivery of acquisition campaigns. 
  • In coordination with the CRM team, manage the individual donor database, monitor Individual Giving performance, and provide data and insights into key donor segments to inform acquisition and overall digital strategies. 
  • Track, analyze, and report on cross-platform campaign performance.
  • Use insights to optimize and improve campaign performance and ROI. · Undertake other duties and special projects to support the Private Partnerships team. 
  • The deliverables for this consultancy are directly linked to the tasks outlined above.
  • The consultant needs to be engaged and perform the above 22 days/month, Sunday to Thursday, connecting at regular office hours, Amman time, unless otherwise specifically agreed.

Requirements:

  • Advanced university degree (Master’s or equivalent), preferably in marketing, business administration, communications, social sciences, international relations, or a related discipline.
  • At least 05 years of relevant work experience, including a minimum of two continuous years of relevant international experience outside UNRWA, and outside the country(s) of which the candidate is a national or holds citizenship, a passport, or a national identity number.
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English.
  • Arabic is preferred.
