The Programme for Emerging and Re-emerging Infections under the Infectious Diseases Division conducts research across multiple projects. The Nipah Virus (NiV) Research team collaborates with national and international partners to conduct nationwide surveillance, outbreak response, and several studies on Nipah virus epidemiology, transmission, prevention, and therapeutics. These efforts contribute significantly to global health security.

Responsibilities:

  • Collect data from field.
  • Analyze data both qualitative and quantitative.
  • Identify monitoring tools for quality assurance of data and feedback to the supervisors about field activities timely.
  • Provide input and guidance to the implementation team as required to execute research protocols and interventions and conduct high-quality research.
  • Conduct literature review.
  • Assist supervisor in report writing.
  • Work with supervisor for developing questionnaire and study protocol.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Anthropology.
  • Minimum 2 Years of experience including Nipah virus investigation and qualitative research methods (e.g., interviews, focus group discussions).
