Job Description

The volunteer's role

To support the development of and fundraising for the Enablis Impact Fund. Likely duties include:

• Conduct a social economic analysis of the East African SME landscape
• Conduct a feasibility analysis of the Enablis Impact fund
• Outline details of the Impact fund legal structure
• Prepare impact fund economics
• Develop a detailed fundraising strategy

Essential Academic Qualifications:

• A graduate degree preferably at the Masters level in business administration.

Essential Professional Background/Competencies:

• At least 5 years’ experience in Fundraising and/or fund management. The individual should also have the confidence and expertise to interface with persons at various levels of the social strata and proven cultural competency

The volunteer should possess the following skills/competencies:

• Fundraising and/or fund management experience ideally in equity fund management
• Research and strategic planning
• Financial modelling expertise
• Relationship building and partnership development
• Strong report writing skills

Desirable Professional Background/Competencies:

• Workshop facilitation

Training and financial support

Training and Financial Support: Our training and support package covers the costs of being an overseas volunteer, allowing you to enjoy a modest but healthy lifestyle while you volunteer abroad. This includes:

• Attendance at a Cuso International assessment day (candidates must cover the first $150 of the most cost-effective travel expenses and accommodation costs)

• Accommodation while overseas
• A modest living allowance, which varies depending on the country where you are placed
• Quarterly payments to support you in your placement
• Modest support for accompanying partners
• For placements requiring Spanish language, substantive in-country language training is provided for those who already have intermediate knowledge.
