About the job

The Global Communications Manager is a brand expert who knows how to build brand, increase awareness about DRC internationally and align our brand perception in Denmark with the features for which we want to be well-known. Our new colleague is also able to pinpoint our top agendas in an annual communication calendar and unfold them in engaging activities for a global audience.

You will be working in a combined fundraising, press and communication department. As a result, you should be capable of creating engaging content for communication channels but orchestrate it in such a way that it supports fundraising communication creation and press angling. Storytelling is key as well as creativity and the ability to think out of the box.

About you

You are an experienced global project manager and love people management to enhance motivation and build staff capabilities. Your personality is outgoing and visionary. You will be responsible for a team of 10 in Copenhagen and together with the Director for Global Communication and Fundraising you will reach out to 40 staff outside of Denmark. The Danish Communication and Fundraising Department counts 45 staff.

Your communication toolbox is both up-to-date and exhaustive. You are used to working with global templates to streamline processes, share best practices and optimize resources. You enjoy travelling, are well-travelled and thus have an international outlook. You also enjoy working in a large complex organization.

All employees should master DRC's core competencies: Communicating, Taking the lead, Collaborating, Striving for excellence and Demonstrating integrity.

Moreover, we also expect the following:


  • Your Danish and English skills are impeccable – in writing and orally.
  • At least 10 years of relevant experience in marketing and communication from the private sector primarily and if you also have experience from the NGO sector it would be even better.
  • Acquainted with the different channels and thus differing needs in terms of bespoke content.
  • Well acquainted with how to develop a 360-degree marketing strategy and plan.


  • Master degree in communication from a Danish or international university (you have maybe lived abroad).
