Under the overall supervision of the FAO Representative (FAOR) in Nepal, the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Assistant will report to one or more professional staff and receives guidance from an Administrative Assistant/Associate (to be adapted in the VA: state title/s of supervisor/s). He/she acts independently in routine matters. Supervision received is focused on the quality of the work performed and provides for on-the-job learning.

Responsibilities

  • Provide first line on-site support on the usage of software and hardware to the end-users.
  • Coordinate the installation and maintenance of all ICT hardware and software, according to FAO ICT standards policy and guidelines.
  • Respond to end-user needs regarding network access and resources.
  • Help to ensure and maintain internet connectivity and information and communication technology (ICT) equipment is in good working condition and assists with troubleshooting and minor first level maintenance.
  • Assist in the installation and upgradation of commercial and in-house software.
  • Conduct and manage virtual Zoom and MS Teams meetings.
  • ICT Support on various events/workshops/trainings.
  • Support to maintain inventory of ICT equipment and software.
  • Provide technical documentation concerning all ICT-related activities and update it periodically.
  • Any other tasks assigned by the supervisor.
  • Perform other duties as tasked and deemed necessary for the overall delivery of the unit´s activities.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in information and communications technology, information systems, Information Technology, Computer Science or relevant field.
  • Two years of relevant experience information and communications technology, information systems, Information Technology, Computer Science.
  • Working knowledge of English and Nepali.
  • National of Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal.
