Job Description

Chemonics interns contribute to technical, new business, and project management tasks and participate in professional development activities to prepare students for careers in international development. This is a unique opportunity to learn from staff across the company and gain an understanding of Chemonics’ work. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assist with research, planning, and implementation of strategic corporate initiatives related to the assigned business operations team
  • Support document management, including updating operational resources or developing new resources and training with members of the team and others in the company
  • Conduct analyses of existing operations processes to ensure Chemonics meets internal and external objectives for key areas of the business
  • Develop and support internal events that reflect current trends and priorities in the business area, as assigned
  • Assist in the development and upkeep of files and support tools
  • Contribute to efforts to capture, synthesize, and share Chemonics’ experiences, capabilities, and lessons learned related to the assigned area of business
  • Assist members of proposal teams as assigned, performing tasks such as CV writing, analyzing loss letters, assisting with past performance reports, and providing technical research for proposals to learn the fundamentals of new business development
  • Attend team meetings and develop agendas and action items as requested
  • Shadow one project management unit in select tasks to learn the functions of a home office-based project management team, or shadow another team in the division on selected tasks to learn the range of home-office functions

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree (rising junior or senior) or graduate degree required; a focus on accounting, business, finance, or management strongly preferred
  • Minimum of 3.0 GPA
  • Excellent research, analytical, and communication skills
  • Attention to detail and willingness to learn
  • Demonstrated interest in international development
  • Demonstrated interest and experience in finance and accounting preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and concisely
  • Ability to work on a team and independently on projects and tasks
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
