The Department of Nuclear Sciences and Applications implements the IAEA's Major Programme 2, "Nuclear Techniques for Development and Environmental Protection." This major program comprises individual programs on food and agriculture, human health, water resources, environment, and radiation technologies.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with experiments related to the collection of radio sulphur and the movement of sulphate in the hydrological cycle.
  •  Assist with radio sulfur analysis in precipitation, surface water and groundwater samples;
  • Assist with preparing and organizing sampling kits for radio sulfur analysis for counterparts;
  • Assist with measuring samples on the liquid scintillation counter and post-processing of raw data;
  • Contribute to related training material and training courses;
  • Collaborate with data analysis, scientific presentations, and paper writing.

Requirements:

    • University degree in chemistry, atmospheric sciences, physics, environmental sciences, hydrogeology, or related field.
    • Experience in a laboratory environment.
    • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment.
    • Skills in analytical chemistry are an asset.
