Under the overall guidance of the Deputy Director – Programmes, and direct supervision of the Monitoring, Evaluation, Research, and Learning (MERL) Specialist, and working closely with the Senior Advisor for Global Programmes, and in collaboration with the UNICEF Generation Unlimited (GenU) Programme Team, the Knowledge Management Consultant will support in the development of key knowledge management outputs, processes, and systems linked to youth skills and livelihoods at UNICEF Generation Unlimited. The position will help to strengthen overall Monitoring, Evaluation, Research, and Learning (MERL) work at UNICEF Generation Unlimited, and also support the UNICEF Generation Unlimited Global Team for key knowledge-related activities and events.

Work experience :

Knowledge/Expertise/Skills required:

  • A minimum of two (2) years of progressively professional experience at the national and international levels in programme management, international development, and knowledge management is desired.
  • Experience designing and executing knowledge management strategies to support programmes.
  • Experience undertaking reporting to support programme and donor acquittal.
  • Experience working in complex environments with multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience working in youth development, labour markets, or Monitoring, Evaluation, Research, and Learning (MERL) is highly desired.
  • Strong IT skills and fluency with Microsoft Office Suites, SharePoint, and other programmes is highly desired.
  • Prior experience in the field will be considered a strong asset.

  • Completed profile in UNICEF's e-Recruitment system and

  • Financial proposal that will include/ reflect :
  • the costs per each deliverable and the total lump-sum for the whole assignment (in US$) to undertake the terms of reference.
  • travel costs and daily subsistence allowance, if internationally recruited or travel is required as per TOR.
  • Any other estimated costs: visa, health insurance, and living costs as applicable.
  • Indicate your availability
  • Any emergent / unforeseen duty travel and related expenses will be covered by UNICEF.
  • At the time the contract is awarded, the selected candidate must have in place current health insurance coverage.
  • Payment of professional fees will be based on submission of agreed satisfactory deliverables. UNICEF reserves the right to withhold payment in case the deliverables submitted are not up to the required standard or in case of delays in submitting the deliverables on the part of the consultant.
