Learning and Development Coordinator

The L&D Coordinator will help manage all project components, including program development, program management and implementation, partnerships, budgets, personnel, and external relations. They will also assist with some central program responsibilities such as budgeting and metrics.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and facilitate the execution of program events and projects, including event management and speaker arrangements. Core portfolio responsibilities include the Accelerator Series, the Global Strategy Lab, and policy courses run in partnership with CSIS research programs.
  • Ensure smooth coordination of all administrative functions of core portfolio events, including project finances and budgets, program correspondence, MOUs, and other official agreements.
  • Regularly track participant applications, including affiliations, email addresses, and dates of registration, and internal timelines for programmatic responsibilities from the planning to closeout stages.
  • Monitor and evaluate programming impact.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of current and new CSIS executive education programs.
  • Collaborate and communicate with 30+ research and administrative departments across the Center.

  • Research and stay up to date with best practices for instructional design principles, learning, and development, as well as new technology and trends.
  • Manage finances including project budget, expense management, and preparation for internal budget reviews.
  • Support the Assistant Director with central finance administration, such as expense reports and invoice payments.
  • Support senior program staff with project logistics, scheduling, program outreach, and communications.
  • Contribute to team support practices, ensuring workloads are manageable and administrative duties are shared equitably across portfolios.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field.
  • 1 year of experience in learning and development, program/project management, educational and instructional design, curriculum design, event planning, and/or facilitating training programs.
  • Excellent organization, time management, and attention to detail; ability to manage competing priorities. 
  • Strong public speaking skills and facilitation presence.
  • Superior communication skills and good judgment.
  • Proactive attitude and spirit of initiative to grow and support others.
  • Ability to work independently or with a team, and with a range of individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
