We are rebuilding tropical fishing with coastal communities
Blue Ventures (BV) develops local approaches to marine management that benefit both people and nature. By listening and responding to basic needs, we design our models to catalyze and support marine conservation, unlocking the potential of coastal communities to manage their resources. We work in places where the ocean is vital to local cultures and economies, and we are committed to advancing the rights of small-scale fishers throughout the coastal tropics.
Brief job description
We are recruiting a Regional Coordinator in Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (or Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning - MEL) for the North West Region, to support our teams in the field in the development and implementation of effective systems of collection, analysis and communication of information necessary for adaptive management.
Under the supervision of the North-West Regional Manager and with the technical support of the National MEL Manager, this is a full-time position based in our office in Ambanja or Majunga with frequent trips to Mahajamba Bay as well as occasional missions to Antananarivo and / or other BV sites if necessary. The position also requires the supervision of the Assistant Researcher in Social Sciences.
We are looking for a pragmatic, methodical and creative person with coordination and coaching skills. Assessment of applications will include alignment of applicants with BV's core values and its mission of supporting human rights-based approaches to marine conservation and fisheries management. You will thrive in collegial and inspiring environments within a dynamic team, and be able to demonstrate your experience of working independently and solving complex problems in difficult situations.
