The position will also work with other programmes including the Refugees and Trade Programme that offers bespoke market led solutions in the context of displacement and migration, specifically in settings of protracted displacement, return migration, and creating labour pathways for refugees.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement and evaluate assigned projects, etc.
  • Monitor and analyze project development and implementation; review relevant documents and reports; identify problems and issues to be addressed and initiate corrective actions; liaise with relevant parties; ensure follow-up  actions.
  • Ensures implementation mainstreaming guidelines in relation youth and other vulnerable groupsby assessing the implications of any planned action within the assigned projects.
  • Ensures the effective links between the assigned projects and corresponding programms and moonshots, in support of innovation, effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Serves as an effective spokesperson for the programmes and assigned projects and establishes collaboration and partnerships with key officials at all levels inside and outside the organization. 
  • Coordinates activities related to budget funding (programme/project preparation and submissions, progress reports, financial statements, etc.) and prepares related documents/reports (pledging, work programme, programme budget, etc.).
  • Organizes and prepares written outputs, e.g. position papers, analysis and reports for presentation to national counterparts, the project donor, and ITC Senior Management, as appropriate.
  • Directs substantive support to consultative and other meetings, conferences, etc., to include proposing agenda topics, identifying participants, preparation of documents and presentations, etc.
  • Manages outreach activities on project-related issues; through participation in international, regional or national meetings and provides programmatic/substantive expertise.
  • Leads and/or participates in large, complex field missions, including provision of guidance to external consultants, government officials and other parties and drafting mission summaries, etc. 
  • Ensures effective utilization, supervision and development of staff. Guides, evaluates and mentors staff. 
  • Performs other duties as required.

Education:

Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in business administration, management, economics, or a related field such as international development.  

Work Experience:

  • A minimum of seven years (nine years with a first level degree) of relevant experience in project or programme management working with or in business support organizations, international organizations, trade related technical assistance or youth is required.   
  • Experience advising senior public and private sector economic actors in a diverse global context is desirable.    Experience working with developing and transition economies is desirable.   
  • Experience in the structural, managerial and operational features related to leadership and direction,  resources and processes, products and services and result measurement of business support organizations is desirable

Languages:

  • English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat.
