  • In support of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Post-2015 Development Agenda, UNOPS (United Nations Office for Project Services), provides technical services in the areas of Infrastructure, procurement, planning, management and capacity development in health.
  • Through the project, the acquisition of medicines and medical supplies will be carried out, through international competitive processes, in accordance with UNOPS standards and procurement policies.
  • Under the guidance and supervision of the Procurement Officer, the procurement assistant is responsible for providing administrative support in the various procurement, contracting, purchasing, services and various assignments of the unit.

Procurement administrative support

  • It provides a variety of specialized and non-specialized transactional support services that guarantee the coherence and quality of the finished processes, as well as the optimal flow of information, such as:
  • Support the drafting of tender documents, evaluation reports, and presentation of contract awards, ensuring consistency of form and content.
  • Process procurement transactions in the UNOPS corporate system - OneUNOPS;
  • Support in the elaboration of Purchase Orders, Contract, LTA´s or its amendments.
  • Receive, review, register, and distribute all incoming and outgoing communication / correspondence inherent in the procurement area.
  • Support in the preparation of reports, applying technical skills and knowledge in the edition and preparation of presentations.
  • Support the preparation of statistics and reports, including procurement / contracting volumes.
  • Make minor purchases (shopping) and follow up the process until its completion.
  • Support in the publication of announcements of acquisitions and awards.
  • Support the archival management of documents in the procurement area.
  • Other tasks assigned by your supervisor.

Customer service, partners, suppliers

  • Actively support the procurement area to provide a service in adequate time, with the exchange of information on the various procurement processes and transactions and inform the supervisor about it.
  • Provide standardized acquisition, guidance and information services to the Unit or project staff, about routine processes and procedures.
  • Other tasks assigned by your supervisor.

Creation and exchange of knowledge

  • Administrative support to organize, facilitate and / or deliver training and learning initiatives for procurement personnel.
  • Other tasks assigned by your supervisor.

Education / Experience / Language requirements


  • It is required to be a graduate of high school studies.
  • Diplomas at a technical or bachelor's level in the areas of Business Administration, Public Administration, Human Resources Management or relevant disciplines will be considered as an asset and may replace some of the required years of experience.

b. Work experience

  • A minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in the area of ​​assistance in administrative and / or procurement areas, preferably in international organizations.
  • It will be valued
  • Experience in organizations of the United Nations System.
  • Experience in the preparation of contracting documents for horizontal and vertical infrastructure, infotechnology, and medicines and medical supplies.
  • Knowledge of another official language used in the United Nations System.


  • Spanish language proficiency is required
  • Basic knowledge of the English language is required
