Senior Program Assistant

The Administrative and Research Assistant (ARA) position require demonstrated ability of rigorous research skills, to work harmoniously in a team, and to exercise good judgment. The level and quality of these skills will be a determining factor in the selection for the position, and references will be given consideration in this determination. The role will include leveraging AI technologies to improve legal research and document management processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Utilize AI-driven tools to conduct research analysis on a range of topics.
  • Implement AI algorithms to identify legal and policy issues, research relevant precedents, and propose appropriate solutions.
  • Prepare detailed reports and summaries of findings, highlighting key legal and policy considerations.
  • Use AI-powered platforms to conduct research on assigned legal issues using existing law files and alternative sources and enhancing traditional methods with computer-assisted searches. 
  • Use AI technologies to analyze information and summarize findings in a clear and concise manner.
  • Stay updated on relevant legal developments and trends that may impact the organization's operations develop tools and process for document management.  
  • Use AI technologies to proofread, format, and edit legal agreements to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Employ AI systems to review project documents for corporate commitments on tagged issues, such as climate, gender etc. Ensure that all legal documents meet the organization's standards and requirements.
  • Maintain accurate and organized records of all research activities and findings.
  • Prepare and present reports, memos, and other documentation as needed.
  • Assist, as needed, in the preparation of legal briefs, and other legal documents.
  • Drafting initial project-related documents with the assistance of AI tools.
  • Provide general support to the Legal Department as needed, including assisting with administrative tasks and special projects.
  • Proactively participate in departmental meetings and contribute to discussions.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of departmental policies and procedures.
  • Work to advance the LEG VPU’s knowledge management agenda and use of technology especially those related to AI applications.
  • Perform ad hoc assignments as requested by the Chief Counsel or designated Lead Counsel.
  • Support the teams in the dissemination and preparation of their product deliverables with the use of new technologies.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, with a minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience.
  • Familiarity with AI technologies and their application in legal research and document management.
